What is on-site urban transformation?

Under Turkish Law No. 6306, buildings found to be at risk in an earthquake can be demolished and rebuilt on the same plot. Owners keep their share of the land and receive new apartments in a modern, earthquake-resistant building. This is called yerinde dönüşüm (on-site transformation).

State support in Istanbul

The Yarısı Bizden campaign offers TRY 875,000 grant + TRY 875,000 loan + TRY 125,000 moving support per home in Istanbul, extended until 31 December 2027. Owners also receive monthly rent assistance during construction.

Frequently asked questions

Can foreign owners take part?

Yes. Foreign and non-resident owners have the same rights as other owners. A power of attorney issued at a Turkish consulate, or an apostilled power of attorney with a sworn translation, is usually needed for signatures.

How are decisions taken?

For buildings found to be at risk, the decision is taken by owners holding more than half of the land shares (simple majority by share).

Is the first meeting free?

Yes, the first consultation and preliminary assessment are free of charge.
